easyGym Champion: Wall Sit Challenge
First of all, well done to Sandra and Krishan from our Tottenham branch for winning the Hang Tough Challenge, the top female time was 3.25 min and the top male time was 11.32 min.
THIS MONTH’S CHALLENGE IS THE WALL SIT
Our March easyGym Champion challenge is the Wall Sit. It may not look like much but when the clock starts ticking, you are definitely going to feel the burn! Enter to be in a chance of winning an Under Armour Performance gym bag!
To get involved in our easyGym Champion challenge the first thing you need to do is find a member of staff – this is important as they will be able to give you an official time and collect your contact details.
HOW TO DO IT?
Lean your back against a wall and slide down until your knees are bent at a 90-degree angle, almost as if you’re sitting on an invisible chair. Your thighs should be parallel to the ground and your back touching the wall. The member of staff will check your wall sit and start the timer. Your upper legs will quickly start burning but hold this position for as long as possible.
This exercise is a great way to strengthen your glutes, quadriceps, thigh and hamstrings. Strengthening these muscles can help prevent knee injuries, so start incorporating this exercise at the beginning of your workout to isolate the muscles or as a burnout at the end of your workout.
- Back flat against a wall
- Legs bent at 90 degrees
- Hands down at sides (not resting on knees/legs)
We’ll be posting the top times on our blog and the top male and female results will both win an Under Armour Performance gym bag!
